Global Health Course Series for healthcare providers

The Global Health Primer is for anyone considering international health work who wants to learn more about the field of Global Health. The one-day course covers foundational topics through interactive lectures, group discussions, and small group sessions.  

The Global Health Accelerator is for Primer alumni or anyone with some global health or international health experience interested in expanding their knowledge and field toolkit. The course aims to introduce participants to engagement approaches beyond providing direct clinical care. The Accelerator combines short lectures with small group workshops.

Who should take the course?

Providers from all medical specialties and healthcare disciplines (RNs, APRNs, PAs, Techs, EMTs, MDs, Pharmacists) and health students are welcome.

The courses are jointly provided with the CU College of Nursing and CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy.

The University of Colorado College of Nursing is an approved provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This educational offering for a maximum of (5.25) contact hours for the Primer course and (TBD) contact hours for the Accelerator is provided by the University of Colorado College of Nursing Office of Continuing Education. Professionals are expected to claim credit commensurate with their level of participation in this activity.

The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE).  The Global Health Primer has been accredited for up to 5.75 contact hours of knowledge-based CPE.
